Independent guide by India Customer Care · Not the Parivahan government website · We never ask for your licence number, vehicle number, Aadhaar or OTP. Official services: parivahan.gov.in
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the India Customer Care driving licence and vehicle guides collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies only to driving.indiacustomercare.com and its pages in other languages (such as /hi/).
Who we are
India Customer Care runs these guides as an independent information website. We are not the Parivahan portal, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, a transport department, an RTO, the police or an agent.
What we never ask for
We never ask for your driving licence number, vehicle registration number, Aadhaar number, OTP, bank details or passwords, and no page on this site has a field for them. Please do not type them into our forms. If you do, our system hides numbers that look like a licence, vehicle, Aadhaar, VID or OTP number before it stores or emails your message.
Tools and quizzes on our pages
Quizzes, mock tests, checklists, planners, calculators, the penalty explorer and the driving simulator work inside your browser. What you enter or score in them is not sent to us. Your browser may remember small settings for the current visit, such as the tab you chose (for example "NRI" or "Resident").
Report a problem and feedback
The Report button (and the "!" on each tool) sends us the subject and comments you write, the address of the page and its language. Our server records the time and your IP address with it, in a log file on our server, and emails the report to our team (at most a few emails an hour). We use the IP address only to stop spam and abuse. Repeated identical reports sent within a minute are ignored and not recorded.
When you answer "Was this page useful?", the answer stays in your browser; choosing "No" opens the Report form if you want to tell us more.
Contact us form
When you use the Contact us form, we receive your comment and, only if you give them, your name, mobile number and email address. We also record the time, the page you came from, the page language and your IP address. Messages are saved in log files on our server and may be emailed to our team. We use them only to reply to you and to improve the guides.
Subscribe
The Subscribe button saves your email address and the updates you chose. Before any updates, we send one email to confirm the address, and nothing else is sent until you confirm. At present no emails are being sent, so your address is simply kept until we start. Every update email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all emails.
Visit log
To understand which guides people use, we keep a simple log of page visits by people (not search engines or other bots). It is written only after you interact with a page (tap, click, scroll or press a key). Each line contains the time, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), your IP address, your country (as reported by our network provider, worked out from your IP address) and the page address without any search terms or other text after a "?". It contains no cookies, no form contents and no permanent ID. To link the pages of one visit, your browser keeps a 30-minute marker that is deleted when you close the tab.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server also keeps standard technical logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the site working.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads from Google AdSense on these pages. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website or to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
In some regions Google may ask for your consent before it uses advertising cookies. Ads never decide what our guides say.
Fonts and share buttons
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to download them. The share buttons are plain links: nothing is sent to WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Telegram or LinkedIn unless you click one, and then that service's own privacy policy applies.
How long we keep information
We keep messages, reports and logs only as long as we need them to reply to you, prevent abuse and run the site, and we delete old records from time to time. Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to government portals such as Sarathi, VAHAN, eChallan and DigiLocker, and to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply there.
Children
These guides are written for adults and for young people applying for their first licence with their parents. Children should not send us personal information.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through the Contact us page.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
